This KUDO's page is dedicated to provide recognition of those service provider's who have continually demonstrated a respect of equality to access to the Deaf Community - appropriate auxiliary aids and reasonable accommondations to all goods and services.
This list has been complied because good access to needed services is a civil right but was also given without the usual hassles. The Southern Maryland Deaf Community wishes everyone would honor our rights as much as those on our list.

TDI- especially Jim House, who came to support
the Deaf community in securing the two text phones
at the St. Charles Towne Center.
Don Sievers, fire safety expert for NAD. Don spent considerable time and effort researching the Fire Safety Codes and alarm systems - when the ASL went up against a local public school system who refused (in the beginning) upgrade an audible fire alarm system to a strobe fire alarm system in one elementary school that has traditionally held the most deaf- hoh kids. Many appearances before the school board and public & private support -finally led the Deaf kids to victory.
Congressman Steny Hoyer- 5th District-Maryland.
A champion for passage of the ADA and still continues to fight for deaf rights.
